organization to promote the common interest of the fishing industry,
provide a forum to foster professional collaboration among fishermen,
and educate Americans about the profession of commercial fishing.

Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations
IFR is the non-profit arm of the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's
Associations. PCFFA is a trade organization that represents Califonia
commercial fishermen. For 30 years, PCFFA has been at the forefront
of efforts to conserve and recover fish populations, to protect
and restore fish habitats and ecosystems, to foster individual
and family-owned fishing businesses, to preserve fishing communities,
and to assure consumers access to healthy, locally-harvested seafood.

The Marine Fish Conservation Network
IFR is a member of the Marine Fish Conservation Network, a nationwide
coalition of like-minded organizations who study the ongoing effects
of the nation's primary fishery statute, The Magnuson-Stevens
Fishery Conservation and Management Act.

The World Forum of Fish Harvesters and Fishworkers
Through the PCFFA, IFR also participates in the World Forum of Fish Harvesters and Fishworkers, an organization made up of artisinal and small boat fishing men and women worldwide committed to sustainable fishing practices and the protection of fishing communities.

University of California Bodega Marine Laboratory
Working with scientists from the University of California, IFR helped sponsor research and development for genetic satellite markers that help track populations of Winter-Run Chinook.

Americorps Watershed Stewards Program
Each year, IFR mentors two Americorps Watershed Stewards Program
volunteers. Americorps personnel are assigned to the IFR office
to learn fishery/conservation policy.

IFR works closely with the aquarium on their Seafood Watch Program and serves as an advisor for this effort.

Save Our Wild Salmon
IFR is a member group and has a seat on the board of Save Our
Wild Salmon. SOS is a nationwide coalition of conservation organizations,
commercial and sport fishing associations, businesses, river groups,
and taxpayer advocates - all joined in a commitment to restore
Pacific Northwest wild salmon and the communities that depend
on them.
